To be accepted on the two-year fast track A Level or BTEC programme students must have at least 5 GCSE’s graded 5-9 or equivalent qualifications. For A Levels This must include a grade 6 or above in the subject you plan to study.
The GCSE English course offers students another chance to obtain a GCSE Grade 5-9 in English that is widely required by employers and an essential part of the matriculation requirements for higher education. As the main focus of this course is to allow pupils to achieve a 5-9 Grade its content will primarily be 4-9 grade mathematics. There will be an expectation that all students will carry out a considerable amount of work at home through set homework tasks and general revision.
Unit1. Exploration of creative reading and writing.
Unit 2. Writers viewpoints and perspectives.
Unit 3. Non-exam assessment.
This qualification can lead to study at A level, L3 BTEC and eventually university in fields such related as English such as journalism, media.
The skills learnt in English are also very transferable to a host of related areas of study and employment.
